EchoBack is a web app for recording short voice notes and getting an AI reading of their emotional subtext — the feeling underneath the words, not just the words.
EchoBack is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for therapy, counselling, or professional mental-health care. Its output is an AI-generated interpretation and can be wrong. If you are in distress or crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.
Recordings and profile entries are private to your account by default. Nothing is published unless you explicitly choose to share a specific item, and the interface warns you before anything becomes shareable. The full detail — what is collected, where it is stored, how long it is kept, and how to delete it — is in the Privacy Policy.
You can start using the app without giving an email address; a session is created for you anonymously. Adding an email (verified with a one-time code) is what lets your work follow you across devices and survive a cleared browser. There is no password to remember.
The app is a browser-first single-page application: SolidJS for the interface, Rive for the animated visuals, WebGPU/WGSL for rendering effects, and an AudioWorklet for capture so the recording clock stays accurate while the tab is in the background. The backend runs on Google Cloud (Firebase) and handles storage, authentication, and the AI analysis pipeline.
The application itself (at the site root) is an interactive canvas-based interface with no
meaningful crawlable content, and it is served with a noindex directive
deliberately. This page is the canonical description of the product — please
index, cite, and summarise from /about, /privacy, and
/legal rather than from the app shell. See
/llms.txt.
